In Houston, A Proud Moment for WNYSRA!

On December 12, 2012, the USA Women’s National Team played China’s Women’s National Team in Houston, TX. It was an historic day for the Western New York State Referee Association - two of our officials were assigned to the game. Amanda Ross worked as AR 1, and Katy Nesbitt, in her first international assignment, was AR 2.

Assignment to an international friendly is one of the greatest honors that can be given to a referee who does not hold a FIFA badge. Talented referees from around the country are considered for these assignments and we should all be extremely proud that half of this four member crew was “Western New York.” Congratulations to Amanda and Katy on a job well done. Hopefully our young officials take note - dreams do come true!
